Hailey Ferguson is the daughter of Mike and Andrea Ferguson. Throughout high school she was involved in volleyball, basketball, softball, National Honor Society, FBLA, serving as Student Council President, pep club, wrestling manager, multimedia, prom committee, and journalism. She also worked at The Fix, Last Resort Campground, and Country Charm. She plans to live in Maryville, Missouri, while attending Northwest Missouri State University to pursue a 4-year degree and follow her dream of becoming a teacher, while also enjoying the college experience. What she is looking forward to the most next year is living with her roommate and experiencing college life. If she goes to her ten-year reunion, she hopes to have accomplished getting her major in Education, having a family of her own, and living in her dream home. A teacher she would like to thank is Mrs. Spunaugle. She shared, “She has always encouraged me to keep moving towards my goals and not let anyone get in the way. She influences me to be a kind, patient, and loving soul to everyone. She’s always supported my goals in pursuing teaching and is constantly reminding me to follow my heart and block out those who try to discourage me. While she is no longer a teacher here at Warsaw, she will always have a special place in my heart and I will forever live by her example on how to be a great teacher and an even better human being!” Her biggest achievement in high school was finding her true friends when she needed them most. Her best memory from high school wasn’t one big event, but all of the people and little moments that make leaving so hard. What she will miss the most about being in Warsaw is her family, chosen family, playing volleyball, and the friends she is leaving behind. What she will miss most about her class is getting to see the people she’s grown up with since daycare. To celebrate the end of this era in her life, she will be traveling to Cabo with family. If she could go back to freshman year, she would change, creating stronger bonds with the friends she has now, wishing she had more time with them. Her advice to a younger student is, “A simple act of kindness can change someone’s day.” She leaves one final message to remember: “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.”
