Elsie Hughes is the daughter of Jason and Emily Hughes. Throughout high school she was involved in marching band all four years, math club for three years, NHS for two years, and FCCLA just this year. She worked as a lifeguard for two summers at the Warsaw Municipal Pool, and is now working in the Fashion Department at Walmart. She also does job shadowing routinely at Alcantara Veterinary Hospital. She plans to attend Missouri State University in Springfield. Her future plans are to work a lot this summer, mainly at Alcantara’s. Then she would like to go through at least four years of college at MSU’s Pre-Veterinary program and find a steady job working with animals. Ultimately, make good money and buy a small house that she can retire in. What she’s looking forward to the most next year is moving out and having more opportunities to have fun while she is still young and spry. If she goes to her ten year reunion she hopes to have accomplished having a good-paying job and be done with school forever, also she’d like to be married and live in a little house or apartment with a couple cats. A past teacher she’d like to thank would be, “Mrs. Spunaugle for being the only math teacher that I have fully understood and for creating a welcoming environment that encouraged me to join Math Club. Also Mr. Dunnaway for his epic quotes.” Her favorite memory from high school was listening to the dummies in Accounting joke with Mr. Dove. What Hughes will miss the most about Warsaw is a few of her coworkers at Walmart. To celebrate the end of this era in her life, “I would like to take a twelve hour nap and eat about four bowls of captain crunch berries.” If she could go back to freshman year she’d change asking more questions and get more involved in clubs. Her advice to a younger student is, “It’s high school, stupid disagreements are not worth fighting over. Take a deep breath, walk away, and chill out!”

About the Contributor
Abbey Wilson, News Photography Editor
Senior Abbey Wilson is on her third year with the Wildcat news production. This year as a photography editor, she will be checking everyone’s stories to make sure they have their photos and captions as well as making sure photo assignments are set. She decided to stay on staff again because with it being her senior year, she wanted to keep going with writing and photography because she’s passionate about it. In her free time Wilson enjoys running, spending time with her family, traveling, working, watching “Gilmore Girls” and listening to music. What she loves the most is working towards her goals for the future and being a big sister to her four siblings. After high school, Wilson hopes to go to State fair Community College or Missouri State University to major in social work and minor in journalism.
