Abbey Wilson is the granddaughter of Bonnie and Thomas Phillips. Throughout high school she was involved in FCCLA, FBLA, FFA, A+ Tutoring, Track manager, Quill and Scroll honor society for journalists, NHS as president, School newspaper as photography editor, Phi Theta Kappa honor society at SFCC and working at Taco Bell. She plans to attend State Fair Community College in Sedalia and then she will transfer to Missouri State University in Springfield to get her masters degree in social work. What she’s looking forward to the most next year is getting to finally work towards her career. Her future plans are to become a social worker either within the foster care system or the clinical aspect of it. On the side, something with photography and writing. For life goals she hopes to travel a lot and make an impact with her career. A teacher she’d like to thank would be Mrs. Swisher because, “She has always been so easy to talk to and brings such a bright light to this school. She’s been such a big help with all of my college things and she never fails to bring such good energy and I always look forward to coming to school and getting to see her.” Her biggest achievement in high school was keeping her grades high through everything that happened during those four years. Her favorite memory from high school was from her senior year when she got her leadership positions as National Honor Society President and Photography editor for the newspaper because they’re out of her comfort zone and it has shown her how much she loves being involved and having a leadership role. To celebrate the end of this era in her life she’ll take a senior trip to Florida with her grandparents right after graduation. Her advice to a younger student is, “Be involved in clubs and all that you can because it makes high school more fun. Also, in the end popularity isn’t everything so just enjoy the four years as best as you can and focus on your future.”

About the Contributor
Abbey Wilson, News Photography Editor
Senior Abbey Wilson is on her third year with the Wildcat news production. This year as a photography editor, she will be checking everyone’s stories to make sure they have their photos and captions as well as making sure photo assignments are set. She decided to stay on staff again because with it being her senior year, she wanted to keep going with writing and photography because she’s passionate about it. In her free time Wilson enjoys running, spending time with her family, traveling, working, watching “Gilmore Girls” and listening to music. What she loves the most is working towards her goals for the future and being a big sister to her four siblings. After high school, Wilson hopes to go to State fair Community College or Missouri State University to major in social work and minor in journalism.
