As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, many students have begun to change their summer wardrobes for cozy layers and fall-fashioned styles. Students often have a variety of their own style in a way to express their individuality while staying comfortable to themselves and stylish.
A very big standout trend for fall is layering. With the weather changing from cold in the mornings to warm in the afternoons, adding a piece to easily be removed and added depending on the weather is extremely beneficial. Flannel shirts, denim, and oversized hoodies have all made an appearance.
“I love wearing an oversized hoodie and tucking it up to make a cuter outfit out of the simple pieces I have. It also goes well, no matter what the weather is at the moment,” junior Maylee Slavens said.
“I like knitted sweaters and cotton crew necks, I find those give very cute fall vibes,” freshman Hannah Cobb said.
A color pallet varies around every wardrobe for fall, any season in reality.
“Dark green, cute brown, NOT AN UGLY BROWN, black, and dark red,” Cobb said.
Beyond the color pallet, there are also many fabrics that go along the fall designated fashion.
“Corduroy, cotton, and knit materials,” junior Mady Reimund said.
When it comes to footwear, UGGS of any form have taken over the scene. Students gravitate towards both comfort and style, opting for shoes that can be worn both in the classroom and out of school activities. Adidas Campus and Converse are other good options for fall fashion.
“I like wearing my UGGS, they’re easy to slip on and off, and go with pretty much everything from baggy jeans to leggings, and even sweat pants,” Slavens said.
Accessories also play a special role in completing fall-fashioned styles. Crossbody bags or purses, jewelry, and many other things completely pull the outfit together. All the small details help each student express who they are through their style and accessories.
“I take my belt bag with me everywhere, it completes every outfit and is very convenient to carry all my necessities,” senior Adison Sherrill said.
“I ALWAYS have jewelry on, it completes the fit officially and adds a little bit of character of who I am,” Reimund said.
Some stores tend to carry more “fall-based” outfits, rather than others, such as TJ MAXX, Shein, and American Eagle. Each outfit comes from a different place, and each person shops based on an outfit that expresses their personality.
“I get all of my outfits mostly from Altered State, PacSun, and often find my inspirations from Pinterest,” sophomore Braylee Cunningham explained.
“Lululemon, Hollister, H&M, UGG, and Amazon have many,” freshman Raiden Dotson said.
From cozy sweaters to bold accessories, fall fashion throughout the school this year is in. Whether students are layering up outfits, wearing statement shoes, or even a simple but cute and comfortable outfit, the students are expressing themselves through what they wear. As temperatures continue to drop, wardrobes are changing each and every day. Many students prove fashion is not only about looking good, but also about feeling confident and comfortable.
