Seniors make plans to enjoy summer

As the school year comes to an end, seniors are starting to plan their senior trips as a celebration of graduating high school.

Senior Grace Drake is going to Nashville and Gatlinburg, Tennessee with her family for her senior trip.

“This trip means more than others because it is the last one before officially starting adulthood,” Drake said.

Drake plans on visiting the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman, Blake Shelton’s bar and grill, and the Rocky Mountains.

“I love Tennessee because I really love music and want to go somewhere where I can be surrounded by it.” Drake said.

Many seniors have different trips they are going on. Some people enjoy the beach, the cities, the mountains, or any other sights to see. Senior Alyson Alcantara is going on a Mediterranean cruise with her family.

“I’m super excited to see the gorgeous sights and rich history in Italy,” Alcantara said.

Alcantara is going on this trip with her father, mother and sister. As a treat for it being Alcantara’s senior year, her parents gave her the choice to choose the vacation they went on.

“Going to Italy has been a dream of mine since elementary school and I am grateful for a chance to visit!” Alcantara said.

Some families have annual trips they go on to. Although with this being their senior year it makes the trip a bit more special. Senior Hunter Collins is going to Florida with her family.

“I am going to Florida on my senior trip because my family and I go on this trip every year,” Collins said.

Hunter expressed how she is excited to swim with manatees and go to the beach.

Seniors enjoyed one last school trip together on May 10. The class went to St. Louis to visit museums and a park.

“I was most excited to spend the day with all my friends and have some fun before the chaos of graduation begins!” senior Rachel Henderson said.
