Warsaw sends students to FFA national convention for 10th year
After 10 years of Warsaw FFA trips to the national convention, seven students got their opportunity to follow the tradition and go to Indianapolis, Indiana.
Warsaw FFA opened up opportunities for any FFA member that had paid their dues to go to the national convention. Over 65,000 FFA members attended the convention held October 25-28. This opportunity allowed members in the chapter to come together and learn about leadership and career opportunities. Agriculture teachers Amanda Smith and Kelsey Brown had the opportunity to take the students to the national convention.
“FFA is a huge part of this world, nothing would be able to function without Agriculture,” Smith said.
The national convention created many memories and experiences for the FFA members.
Freshman Jessie Bilderback was one of the seven to go to the national convention.
“It was truly a remarkable experience, and I’m glad I got the opportunity to go,” Bilderback said.
At the convention, the FFA members attended opening sessions that included keynote speakers and presentations of awards. FFA members toured Fair Oak Farms and Mark Twain Cave.
“The Mark Twain cave was very interesting. It was very cool to see all the old names in the cave. It’s a great part of history and I’m glad that we got to tour it. The Fair Oaks farm was also super fun. We got to see how milk was made and how well their animals were taken care of,” junior Autumn Walton said.
