FFA hosts annual Barnwarming dance, degree ceremony

The Barnwarming royalty court gathers for a picture after coronation, candidates included freshmen Laney Arnett and Benton Breshears, sophomores Isabelle Edge and Michael Givens, queen junior Devin Hawley, king junior Dakota Steinhoff, seniors Morgan Branson and Jake Steiner, 2020 graduate and returning Barnwarming Queen Kaitlyn Lopez and 2020 Barnwarming King senior Jared Thomas.

FFA members gathered in the ag building on April 2 for a night full of cornhole, donuts, and line dancing during the annual Barnwarming dance. The dance was themed around the song “Head Over Boots” by Jon Pardi.
Juniors Dakota Steinhoff and Devin Hawley were crowned king and queen, with votes tallied from pennies, a form sent to the high school, and points from the candidate games. King and queen candidates played three games.
To start the night, the Greenhand and Chapter degree ceremony was held for students in Ag Science I and Ag Science II who had met the requirements of the degrees. Other festivities included cornhole and line dancing taught by middle school counselor and Friends of FFA member Katie Johnson and chapter FFA president junior Sarah Johnson.
