In addition to the team being much smaller this season, the girls have worked hard while also playing it safe in order to achieve wins. Not having a JV team is different for the players this year, but it allows the girls to bond and become closer as a team.

“Having only one team can be a challenge at times due to injuries or sickness, but it is also a lot of fun,” senior Kylie McRoberts said.

“Of course it’s a bit of a struggle. However, what it all comes to is the hope this year we will have improved and had lots of fun doing so,” coach Kensie Daleske said.

So far this season, the team is 5-10.

Six seniors were honored on Thursday, Sep. 24 after the game against Buffalo. They included Stephanie Blake, Raven Caswell, Keyona Davis, Taylor Hetherington, Kylie McRoberts, and Payton Adair.

“I’m going to miss all the good times I’ve had with my fellow teammates,” senior Payton Adair said.

“I’ll miss playing softball with Kaci Cooner, and just being able to have fun,” senior Taylor Hetherington said.

“I’m going to miss being an influence on the younger girls and helping them along through the season,” senior Keyona Davis said.
