Many students were very optimistic about how the 2025-26 school year would go and they say the key to having a positive experience is keeping grades in check and getting involved in the school community.
“I always try my best to bring positive energy to all of our school events, and I do my best to plan things and take everyone’s opinion into consideration,” senior student body president Brayden Henderson said.
Some students say their best year will be defined by the activities they participate in. When asked about personal goals, freshman class president Kenyan Beck said she wanted “to be a role model for others and make sure that I get good grades.”
Beck said she would surround herself with positive people.
“I just plan on making sure that I choose to hang out with people who are going to better me and support me all throughout high school,” Beck said.
For many, success this year will come from balancing academics, friendships and school involvement to make the most of every opportunity.
“I am a very positive person, I love being happy. Though it is definitely very stressful and a lot of work to keep up with academics, work, school involvement, and friendships, and sometimes I find myself feeling weary and burdened and feel like my spirit is being sucked out by all of the pressure. My plan is to remember to do it all for the glory of God, I am going to keep showing up with a positive mindset and genuine smile on my face, I’m going to face down everything head on, I am going to keep being myself no matter what and I’m going to strive to be present in the moment,” junior class president Maya Daughenbaugh said.
