Michaela (Grace) Cottrill is the granddaughter of Nola and Billy Gregg. She was involved in JROTC. She wants to be an automotive mechanic until she can go into the police academy to become police detective, or go to the FBI. A teacher she would like to thank is Colonel Eckart from her JROTC class for teaching her that she can do more than what she is doing, no matter how far in life she is. Her advice to a younger student is: “Your life and your success all depends on the effort you’ve put it. I’ve been to 3 different high schools and met hundreds of students. The common denominator in struggling classmates was that they didn’t understand how they learned, so when they fell behind they quit. You haven’t failed until you’ve quit. There are ways to make up the credits you missed and there are ways to get a low grade up. The best thing you can do is communicate openly with your teacher. The scariest teachers can be just as helpful as the nicest.” If she could go back to freshman year she would have change her schedule to get her core credits first.
