Hazel Thompson is the daughter of Eric and Jennifer Masoner. She was involved in FCCLA, speech team, cheer, dance, pep club, women’s choir, performance choir, yearbook, and community service with The Salvation Army. She also works at McDonald’s and the Warsaw Antique Mall. She plans to live in Sedalia while attending State Fair Community College and then transfer to SBU in Bolivar and get her bachelor’s degree in teaching for either English or choir. She would like to visit the Pacific Coast at some point as well. A teacher she would like to thank would be “Both Ms. Swish and Arcisiz for teaching me it’s okay to be your silly quirky self as long as you’re having fun.” Her biggest achievement would be connecting with so many different people in different ways and situations. Her advice to a younger students would be, “Not to forget in the long run you will learn from your friendships and experiences, try not to get stuck in one place for too long because you might miss what’s waiting for you.” Thompson shared a Bible verse that she thinks off often, 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
