Sonia Lasseigne is the daughter of Dean and Sarah Lasseigne. She was involved in FCCLA, student council, art club, Madrigal, and volunteered/attended many summer camps with her church. She plans to live in Kirksville and obtain a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Truman State University and go on to graduate school to study optometry. Her dream is to become an eye doctor and hopefully contribute to the study of different eye cancers, their causes, and potential cures. A teacher she would like to thank is Mrs. Glenn. “Even though I don’t spend much time around her, I would like to thank Mrs. Glenn for being such an amazing teacher and someone I feel like I can rely on for advice and a comfortable classroom to do work in,” she said. If she were to go to her 10-year reunion she would like to have completed eight years of school and to be working in a professional setting as an Optometrist. She believes that her biggest accomplishment in high school was finishing it. The thing that she will miss the most about being in Warsaw and high school is the lake days after a long week of work. Her advice to an upcoming high schooler is, “Don’t let your past performance define how you view yourself. It is never too late to improve.” If she could go back to her freshman year she would tell herself that she is more capable than she thinks. She plans to end this era with a graduation party with her friends and family as well as a summer of traveling and road tripping.
