The annual semi-formal Echoes Ball on March 1 celebrated WHS tradition with an “Old Hollywood” theme, complete with a red carpet. The night was filled with dancing, singing, and the coronation.
The coronation consisted of eager parents, teachers, and students as they waited for results. Juniors Hazal Uelker and Tyler Fajen won princess and prince, while seniors Samantha Harr and Jaxon Deckard won queen and king.
Harr was very surprised when she won Echoes Queen.
“I honestly didn’t think about what I’d do or think when it happened because I never would have imagined. The feeling of being crowned was a feeling that is unimaginable,” she said.
Yearbook has hosted this dance for 75 years, and this year is just the same. Editor-in-Chief Ashlynn Adams, yearbook staff, and adviser Amanda Adler were in charge of setting up this dance with the help of other students and family.
Adler really liked seeing the dance come to life from the ideas of her students.
“My favorite aspect of the event this year was watching my students develop the red carpet and old hollywood theme, it made for such a cool and successful dance,” Adler said.
Adams said she really liked listening to music and seeing everyone come together while setting up.
“My favorite part of setting up for Echoes was listening to music with my yearbook friends and watching everything come together. It’s always a relief for me when the ideas I have in my head about what I want the dance to look like actually turn out well in person,” she said.
Senior Tatum Bohl said she was happy to make good memories while setting up
Echoes for the last time.
“My favorite part of setting up was being able to do it with my friends for the last time and making good memories,” Bohl said.
Freshman Channing Radford got ready with her friends for Echoes. She shared how they took pictures, got food, and got ready together.
“I got ready with my friends. We went to the Harbor to take pictures with everyone and got Vera Cruz to eat before we went to the dance,” said Radford.
