This year was FFA’s 14th annual Barnwarming. The theme this year was Four Leaf Clover, based on a song by Gavin Adcock. This theme was decided during the FFA’s September meeting and families and friends gathered together on Nov. 9 and enjoyed eating, line dancing, the ceremonies, and games.
Junior Barnwarming Queen Jovi Robertson explains her favorite memory from the dance.
“My favorite memory was probably line dancing with my friends and just enjoying the night with all the great people I was surrounded by,” she said.
Freshman Leigha Coons also agreed that line dancing was a blast!
“My favorite part was line dancing and talking with friends,” she said.
Barnwarming originated in fall of 2011 this was also the year that they were building the foundation of Warsaw FFA all together.
Since then, sponsors Amanda Smith and Jackie Downing have kept the tradition going.
Senior Nathaniel Griffen says he’s grateful for how they help.
“I believe our sponsors are great and I am thankful for them sponsoring us and the community’s help and effort to achieve our goals for this 2024-2025 school year,” Griffen said.
As the night settled down, the coronation ceremony began.
The winners are chosen during that week. They send out a voting poll, and students elect who they want to win during that week. They also have money boxes with nominees on them and the night of the dance they play games and then finalize the choice for Barnwarming queen and king.
The candidates for queen and king included: junior Hayley Case and senior Nathaniel Griffen, juniors Jovi Robertson and Brayden Henderson, sophomores Karley Keele and Bendon Caylor; and freshmen Kylie Wake and Wyatt Drake.
The 2024-2025 Barnwarming queen and king were junior Jovi Robertson and senior Nathaniel Griffen.
Robertson was in shock.

Ag teacher Amanda Smith expresses why the event is important to the organization.
“Barnwarming is an exciting event that brings students together working toward a common goal of celebrating traditions and accomplishments,” she said.
Senior Nathaniel Griffen also thinks other students should join FFA at Warsaw.
“There is so much to do and achieve in FFA. I wish I was more involved in it earlier in life and not let so many great opportunities slip by,” he said.
