Pumpkin spice and layered clothing season is here again. The season has officially transitioned, which means fall trends are here! Many students and staff have expressed their interest in fall trends, and why they participate in them.
One of the biggest fall trends is fall outfits.
According to fashionunited.com on Fall/Winter Fashion Trends, “This season is all about clothing for colder temperatures and wearing layers. Autumn/winter clothes are usually made of thicker (clothing) fabrics and warmer raw materials, such as wool and a more luxurious cashmere, for example.”
Some students expressed how they felt about the fall trends.
“My favorite season is fall, so I love dressing for it. I love hoodies and basically any outfit that I can wear a puffer vest with,” senior Anna Zimmerman said.
Anna has been talked about as a very known student in WHS, for wearing cute fall outfits.
“I’ve always loved Anna’s outfits, they’re so seasonal and cute,” sophomore Mady Reimund said.
Wearing fall outfits, comes with shopping for clothing as well.
“My favorite fall store is American Eagle because they always have the cutest crewnecks,” senior Brylee Brewster said.
Brewster also enjoys wearing fall outfits, because she loves matching the fall colors.
Along with fall trends, some people have differences in coffee taste, during the seasonal changes. Stated by transformationsnetwork.com on Coffee Changes in Season, “people are more likely to associate fall flavors with joyful memories (much like how people enjoy hot chocolate and eggnog at Christmas time). People associate the fall season with ultimate warmth and coziness, with pumpkin flavoring an added bonus to the overall feeling of snugness.”
Overall, it has been expressed by students that there’s more to seasonal drinks.
“I enjoy seasonal drinks because I like trying new flavors. I also love that it’s seasonal and limited, so I don’t get tired of it,” sophomore Emma Taylor said. With these seasonal drinks though, some prefer hot and some prefer cold.
“I like my coffee iced, because I just think it’s better that way,” Taylor said.
Counselor Bobbi Swisher agreed that flavored coffee is best iced.
Another way to welcome in the season of fall, is pumpkin carving. For some, it is a family tradition. The Wisdoms have a pumpkin carving tradition every year. Coach Justin Wisdom designs and carves a pumpkin for each of his two daughters (Cora and Evelyn), to match what they’re dressing up as for Halloween.
“I have always had an artistic trait in me, however I don’t get to use it very often anymore. This is one way I can revisit that trait and also do something for my daughters. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to projects, so I enjoy the challenge,” Wisdom said.
While enjoying the challenge, Wisdom also expressed that he enjoys making his daughters happy and seeing the outcome of the project.
“Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons, pumpkin carving is just a tradition that adds to the enjoyment,” Wisdom said.
Overall, fall is to be known as a fun filled season. Everyone celebrates in different ways, traditions, events, self care, etc.
“Happy Fall Ya’ll! Jesus loves you!” Brewster expressed.
