Junior Tanna Howe plays Libero on the volleyball team. She has been playing for five years. She loves the sport because of how different it is from softball.
“What I love most about volleyball is the calm setting it brings me outside softball, but also, the people I’m surrounded with. The girls make the sport more fun to play, especially freshman Braylee Cunningham always being the life of the party, ” Howe said.
She started playing because of her friends. She tries to be the most uplifting spirit out on the court, and willing to do anything for her team. Her favorite memory so far, has to be when she was warming up with Maylee and Mady in Osceola and hit three people in the head while peppering. She is looking to improve her leadership skills and step up as an upperclassman, along with just trying to read hitters better because digging is her main job. Her biggest achievement in this sport is with last year’s team when they won a district game for the first time in 10 years. She is sitting at 341 digs in her career, and on the right track to hit 500 this year.
