Warsaw Cheer makes it to All American
Three WHS cheerleaders represented Warsaw with a performance with the All-American team at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida at the end of December. Juniors Dallas Steinhoff and Karlie Nelson and sophomore Tatum Bohl traveled to perform with the elite group of cheerleaders from across the country.
The girls had to try out in front of UCA judges to qualify for the honor. Four cheerleaders were selected, but only three made the trip. Freshman Shaelynn Ward was also selected for the honor, but was traveling with the band to Memphis during the time of the Orlando trip.
The experience was memorable for the girls and their coach.
“The girls worked for three weeks to work on this routine, the practices were even extended,” Coach Shanda Steinhoff said.
“It was very enjoyable,” Bohl said.
Nelson said she learned much from the experience.
“The best thing is to listen and learn,” she said.
The three loved the experience and thought the fact they would be able to say they cheered in the Citrus Bowl is awesome.
