Volleyball players encouraged by improvements in season
The volleyball team finished their season with a tough loss against the Russellville Indians in the first round of districts in four sets.
When reflecting on the season, many players felt encouraged by improvements they made and were hopeful to gain more wins in future seasons.
“I’m looking forward to the upcoming seasons because we had freshmen that had varsity time and became varsity level players and that will help in the upcoming seasons,” junior Laney Arnett said.
Players made good memories with their team this season.
“My favorite memory this season was being in the locker room before games because we would always hype each other up,” sophomore Haylee Cobb said.
The end of the season was bittersweet for, not only the five seniors, but for the rest of the team as well.
“I’ll miss the adrenaline when we have a good set and I’ll miss the friendships I’ve made this season,” senior Jazzmyn Swisher said.
The Lady Cats varsity team finished their season with a 2-20-2 record. The junior varsity team ended with a record of 17-4-1. Although the season didn’t go as players had hoped, the Lady Cats are willing to put in the work for the following season.
