Senior athlete plans for future in welding
Senior Tim Burkhart is currently attending State Fair Community College’s CTC program for welding. After high school he plans to pursue his passion for welding. Burkhart also plays football and baseball.
“I would describe Tim as bigand strong, a hard worker, and a go getter that doesn’t let anything bother him,” assistant football coach Mikel Gragg said.
“He’s always at foot, never missed anything, and gave everything he had even if he was hurt,” Gragg said.
Burkhart has been playing football for eight years. He plays as a linebacker.
Burkhart has lived in Warsaw his whole life with his two brothers.
“My family is the reason why I started playing sports,” Burkhart said.
His favorite memory in elementary was at South School whenever he kicked a football over the telephone pole. His favorite memory while in high school is whenever he broke his collarbone while playing football. He has also gone to Warsaw his whole life.
Baseball season starts Monday, March 1. They have open gyms before school at 6:45 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is his first year playing.
“ I never done it before and I thought that it would be fun.”
A lot of his friends describe him as one of the nicest people they know and that he is selfless.
“Tim is a very humble person,” senior Bradley Brown said.
Burkhart is known to be a very hard worker and doesn’t give up when things get difficult.
