Spirt Spotlight: Freshman Abigail Burnham

Freshman Abigail Burnham

     Freshman Abigail Burnham has been involved in cheer since 7th grade and is on the varsity team.

“I started this activity in 7th grade. Whenever we had tryouts I got started because my friends liked it so I wanted to do it too. I am a good back spot, and I think I bring a positive, crazy vibe to the team,” she said.          

      Burnham hopes to improve her tumbling and jumping skills. Along the way she has also made other achievements by improving herself and her ability to work with others as a team. 

     This season, Burnham’s favorite cheer is “The Great Balls of fire dance” and her favorite memory is going to Maryville for a cheer camp and college.

     Burnham explains what she loves the most about being a cheerleader on the WHS cheer team. 

“I love the bond we all share and how much we get along.”

Junior Abbey Wilson is on her second year with the Wildcat news production. This year as a staff writer she will write about events going on at WHS and photograph those events as well. She decided to join the staff because she is passionate about writing and photography. In her free time Wilson enjoys running, playing soccer, working out, spending time with her family, traveling, watching "Gilmore Girls" and listening to music. What she loves to be the most is a big sister to her four siblings. She has two brothers and two sisters; Titus, Carson, Lydia and Sarah. After high school, Wilson hopes to go to Missouri State University to major in criminal justice and minor in psychology. When she finishes college she hopes to be a forensic child psychologist.

Senior Ashlynn Adams is rejoining the yearbook staff for her third year as editor-in-chief. She is excited to share students' stories and capture memories for her peers to look back on. In addition to being involved in yearbook, she is also involved in math club, NHS, and Student Council. In her free time, Adams likes to spend time with her friends and family, watch movies and shows, and occasionally read a good book. After high school, she plans to attend college, although she is undecided on a major.
