Junior Elsie Hughes plays the flute for the band. Her favorite part of the show is the shapes they are forming in the field, they are new and different from last year’s show. Her favorite pep tune is “Great Balls of Fire”.
“It brings back a lot of memories from my freshman year and it’s a catchy tune.” Hughes said.
She loves when they get to wear pink plumes in the pink out game, and the overall community of band. She started band in 6th grade and sort of tagged along with it.
“Now I’m too involved to leave, so I guess I will stick with it.” Hughes said.
She tries to be an example and stay organized and present for everything. Her favorite memory is when the band’s first place trophy was broken by a football last year. She is looking to improve on focusing on surviving. Her biggest achievement is not quitting when all of her section graduated.
