Junior LilyAnn Valentine is in the “pit” section, playing the xylophone. She enjoys competitions that the band goes to.
“my favorite part is probably the competitions. It’s fun seeing other schools’ shows and being able to interact with other band members” Valentine said.
Her favorite pep tune is “Uma Thurman”. She likes being able to express her talents along with other people, and be able to make something memorable from it. She started in the band because in 5th grade, the high school band came to the elementary school and let them try out all the instruments.
“I tried out the drums and decided I really liked them, and then I decided I wanted to be in band.” Valentine said.
She tries to be a positive influence. She thinks that there’s a lot of ups and downs in their group, and a lot of bickering and drama. It can be a bit much sometimes, but She hopes to be a reminder to others that it’s important to stick together. Her favorite memory is pit bonding time. She is looking forward to improving on communication with her peers
