New high school staff member, Ty Payne, switched to teach MO Options to help high school students.
“I decided to switch because I wanted to work with high school students that were in a situation where they needed help to get to graduation. When I moved to MO twenty years ago I was the high school principal at Greenridge, and the MO option program interested me then. When the Warsaw school district decided to add it, I knew I wanted to do it.”
Adjusting to a new position was hardly a struggle for Payne.
“I love it, the biggest adjustment is learning how to work a new software program.”
In his free time he enjoys being with his family and participating in a few of his hobbies.
“I smoke meat, work in my shop and watch sports. My wife and I love to travel,” he said.
His wife, Amanda Payne, is the behavior interventionist at North elementary school. They have a dog named Loni, five nephews and one niece.
Though it may be difficult to choose a favorite song, Payne named his all time favorite: “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe.
Payne’s biggest accomplishment would have to be, “Making it through a 30 year education career.”
