Students have been coming to school in spirit week fashion this week in anticipation of Friday’s 2018 Courtwarming celebration.

The Wildcats will play Eldon Friday night. Coronation of the Courtwarming royalty will be between the JV and Varsity Boys Basketball game.

Candidates for the coveted Courtwarming crown include seniors Dallas Larsen, Cody Wilson, Rayne Faulconer, Mikayla Andrews, Ashton Adams and Drew Dawson. Prince and princess candidates are juniors Matt Luebbert, Kolby Estes and Jacob Luebbert and Taylor Bunch, Madilyn Gardner and Kamryn Yach.

This spirit week has included a pajama day on Monday, a twin day on Tuesday, and a meme day on Wednesday. Students will dress as athletes and mathletes on Thursday and classes will participate in a color war on Friday.

The Courtwarming dance hosted by Pep Club will be held immediately after the last game until 11pm. The dance will feature DJ Bob Dodds from Quality Audio.

According to previous Ozark Echoes yearbooks, Warsaw’s Homecoming started as a basketball Homecoming before Warsaw had a football program. After the school added a football Homecoming, the school hosted both a Football and Basketball Homecoming. The school changed the Basketball Homecoming to Courtwarming in 1999. Homecoming and Courtwarming has only honored a king and prince for the past 11 years. Warsaw only crowned a Courtwarming and Homecoming princess and queen up until 2007, when the king and prince honors were added.
